it was a beautiful sunny day and we spent a lot of time outdoor enjoying the warm and the colours of this spring time!
This was also an opportunity to wear beautiful apparel of SS'13 collection by Russell Athletic presented in preview some weeks ago by Surfing the Web!

Corre l'anno 1902 quando l'allora ventiseienne Benjamin Russell avvia la sua attività in Alexander City (Alabama) con dieci macchine da cucito ed otto macchine per la maglieria!
Ai suoi esordi la fabbrica produce canottiere da donna e abbigliamento intimo per l'infanzia con una capacità produttiva di 150 capi al giorno.
It all started in Alexander City, Alabama USA, in May 1902, with 10 sewing machines, 8 knitting machines, and a 26 years old man named Benjamin Russell. The original mill produced ladies undershirts and children’s undergarments with a beginning capacity of 150 garments daily.
Grazie alla lungimiranza di Benjamin Russell Junior, qualche anno dopo, Russell si proietta nel mondo dell'abbigliamento sportivo, acquisendo la Southern Manufacturing Company e iniziando a produrre completi felpa/giacca e pantaloni da basket, baseball e football.
Due to Benjamin Russell Junior long view, Russell went on to acquire Southern Manufacturing Company and began making woven athletic garnments including basketball, baseball and football jackets and pants.
Nel corso della seconda guerra mondiale, la Divisione 'Athletic' di Russell fornisce prevalentemente i militari.
Nel 1945, alla morte di Benjamin Russell, prende le redini dell'azienda Thomas D. Russell. Con la fine della guerra l'Azienda riprende la sua inarrestabile espansione.
During World War Two, Russell’s ‘athletic’ Division sold primarily to the military. Benjamin c. Russell died in 1945 and was succeeded as president by his brother, Thomas D. Russell. After the War the company embarked on further expansion and development.
Negli anni sessanta la Divisione 'Athletic' di Russell continua a svilupparsi e progredire divenendo leader di mercato negli USA per l'abbigliamento sportivo.
E negli anni novanta Russell Athletic® diviene uno dei maggiori fornitori di uniformi sportive per Major League Baseball, NFL, college e team sportivi di ogni calibro.
During the 1960’s the ‘athletic’ division was the largest marketer and manufacturer of athletic apparel and uniforms in the USA. By the 1990’s Russell Athletic® became one of the largest suppliers of athletic team uniforms in Major League Baseball, NFL, college and high school sport programs through to little league.

In may 2002, Russell celebrated its 100th anniversary. The brand had come a long way from its early origins in Alexander City, Alabama. Today, Russell Athletic® continues to produce and market sporting apparel for both male and female professional and amateur athletes of all ages and levels.
And so the legend lives on.
